Testimonies

Check out statements from some of the exhibitors at the trade fair’s last edition:

TatuMarchesan

According to João Marchesan, director at TatuMarchesan, the sales volume this year was greater than had been expected and up 30% by comparison with the Agrishow’s last edition. “This is an important year, sales, and the prices of grains and commodities are high, and this favors the agribusiness sector in general terms”, he declared.

Baldan

According to Baldan’s commercial manager Renato Forti Duarte, the volume of sales was up 15% by comparison with last year, coming out to a total of R$ 10 million. “The figure is higher than last year and was in line with our expectations”. Duarte stressed the importance of what he calls the “after Agrishow”. “The trade fair is important for making contacts and the profile of the buyers is different, some prefer to get a quote and then close the deal later”. Additionally, in Duarte’s opinion the organization of the trade fair has improved and it is on the right track.

Embraer

Embraer ended its participation in Agrishow 2011 with excellent results. During the five days of the trade fair the company closed deals to the value of R$ 3 million with the signing of the sale of 4 ethanol-fueled agricultural aircrafts. With more than 1,150 units sold, the aircraft Ipanema, which runs on ethanol, is the leader in the agricultural aviation market in Brazil, with a market share of 75%.

Casale

According to Casale’s sales manager, José Henrique Karsburg, the volume of business was greater than that registered last year, with a 10% increase in sales, and a total of 60 machines being sold. Turnover came to R$ 5 million, according to Casale’s manager, the growth was significant, but nevertheless less than had been expected. “Taking into account the current positive scenario in terms of agribusiness, in general expectations were better. Maybe the failure of a harvest or the rainfall had an impact on this result”, was his assessment. Either way the outlook is optimistic. “In order to achieve the sales that we were able to make at the Agrishow, we would have to work for two months”.

Grupo Agrimec

Grupo Agrimec exceeded its sales target of R$ 850,000 for the Agrishow, registering total sales of R$ 1.2 million. 66 implements were sold, with the highlights being the leveller grader, disc roller, knife roller and trenching machines.

Case Construcion

160 machines. This result already represents a 20% increase over the last edition of the Agrishow. For each machine that is sold, the company donates R$ 500 to Barretos’ Cancer Hospital, through the Programa Case Multiação, which is Case’s program of sustainable actions. On average, the machines cost R$ 250 thousand.

Maggion

The focus is not on selling, but rather on the after trade fair business. The contacts were up 20% vis-à-vis last year. "The separation of the event into different sectors was the best thing that the trade fair’s organizers could have done", declared Sebastião Ferrari, the company’s Marketing Manager.

Pirelli

The company received a total of 400 enquiries up until the morning of the 6th, the final day of the Agrishow. Sales registered so far come to a total amount of R$ 1.2 million which is 15% more than was observed last year. “In general terms, visibility is great and this has boosted the volume of sales. Tires are a technical sale and the majority of the clients are farmers and mills".

Maksolo Implementos e Peças e Agrícolas

Sales up to May 5th were 30% greater than at the last edition of the Agrishow.

Santal Equipamentos Comércio e Indústria

A total of R$ 45 million in sales was registered on the morning of the last day of the trade fair. “The Agrishow had a more qualified public, with people who were really interested in doing business. Out of all the trade fairs in the sector, the Agrishow is the one that takes place at just the right time, because it is held after the harvest, which is the ideal time for making purchases”, commented the director.
